Hal is an advocate for quality healthcare and elderly care to all areas within the nation, including rural, metropolitan and urban centers. Hal earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.

Chris is a senior vice president of MidFirst Bank National Healthcare lending. He has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience and 17 years of experience related to healthcare finance. In his current position, he focuses on business development in healthcare, including hospitals, surgery centers, medical office space and senior housing. Chris works with a broad range of healthcare-related clients, including medical real estate developers and operating companies. He previously worked at Stillwater National Bank, where he held multiple roles within the healthcare lending team, including business development, portfolio management and credit analysis.

Tonya is a first assistant vice president of healthcare lending with MidFirst Bank. She has more than 25 years of banking experience, with a focus on hospital, long-term care and senior living facilities. In her current role, Tonya is responsible for overseeing new healthcare lending relationships from loan closing and beyond. Tonya earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Amy is a Relationship Manager with more than 20 years of banking and commercial lending experience. She is responsible for managing new healthcare lending relationships and being an ongoing trusted advisor to her clients. She earned her bachelor's degree from East Central University and a master's degree from Oklahoma Christian University.

Paul Karnes

Paul Karnes

Senior Credit Executive

Paul is a first vice president and senior credit executive for MidFirst Bank. He has 17 years of banking experience, with a focus on managing a team of specialized credit analysts, collaborating on the structuring of transactions and reviews and approving large healthcare transactions. His clients include hospitals and healthcare systems, healthcare real estate investment trusts, as well as senior living, long term care and ambulatory surgery centers. Paul graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in finance and accounting. He is a member of the Risk Management Association Healthcare Steering Committee, the Risk Management Association Healthcare Credit Officer Round Table and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Paul is a nationally licensed competitive youth soccer coach and enjoys playing guitar in his free time.

Healthcare Lending Credit Analyst

Kara is a healthcare lending credit analyst with MidFirst Bank. She has 13 years of banking experience spent primarily within MidFirst Bank’s Private Banking department as a portfolio manager/account officer. There she worked with high-net-worth individuals, particularly physicians, to deliver tailored lending and banking solutions. She transitioned to a healthcare lending credit analyst role in December 2022. Kara earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. She currently resides in Moore, OK with her husband, daughter and son.

Josh has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a primary focus on financial advisory and valuation services. He has extensive experience with healthcare real estate and has executed financing for several transactions above $1 billion. Before joining MidFirst Bank, Josh worked at Oxford Finance as Director of Healthcare Services, and has a proven record of advising and partnering with healthcare providers, facilities and service companies in building businesses and unlocking value through strategic financial solutions. Josh received his B.A. with honors from McMaster University.
